The Road Back to Me, Redhead in Japan
In this final thesis project, I use the metaphor of the difference between American and Japanese aesthetics as a way to share an unfolding experience. Embracing ‘simplicity is key’, I use narrative and poetry to tell my story of emergence. I started this project with the intent to help others in a more objective, clinical way by providing tips and tricks, or useful information. This would also allow me to wrap things up nicely, find a silver lining, and end on a happy note. As I shifted towards the emotional healing and the acceptance of angst, I realized this is much more helpful. I needed to start from inside before I could venture out.
