Four key domains integrate the Mindful and Engaged Learning Community approach: teacher well-being, social and emotional competence, culturally responsive teaching, and positive academic mindsets.
The certificate in Mindful and Engaged Learning Communities will empower educators to create a safe and inclusive classroom culture where learners feel valued, competent, and influential contributors to the learning community.
This certificate is ideal for in-service teachers, counselors, librarians, and other professional educators in both private and public schools.
Each session will be offered through Zoom (a video conference) and will last 90 minutes. Lessons will include a combination of collaborative discussions, information sharing, and reflective practices.

Lucila Rudge, Ph.D. is Adjunct and International Baccalaureate Coordinator at the University of Montana, Honorary Senior Lecturer at The University of Auckland, and Faculty Associate at the SelfDesign Graduate Institute. Rudge’s research and teaching experience include undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of teacher-student relationships, social and emotional learning, holistic pedagogy, contemplative practices, educational psychology, multicultural education, and international education. She is the author of Holistic Education: An Analysis of its Pedagogical Application and numerous articles. Before coming to U.S. to complete her doctoral studies at Ohio State University, Rudge taught in Brazil, her native country, St, Maarten, United Kingdom, and Indonesia.
